kvrkitchen is a Montreal-based pop-up restaurant project run by chef Kyle Roerick that travels the world creating intimate, memorable, and delicious dining experiences. After the amazing reception of last year’s summer dinner series hosted at Salt Spring Island Cheese Company, kvrkitchen will be returning to Salt Spring featuring dinners twice weekly for the month of August 2018.

I am beyond thrilled to return to Salt Spring Island this August 2018 for my second dinner series. August is such an idyllic time on the island; farms are harvesting some of summer’s best products, which are so fun to work with in the kitchen. This season, I will create menus working closely with local and seasonal ingredients from the island, while injecting inspiration from a variety of my recent travels and culinary experiences.

Partage + do good

A match-making meal to bring together Montrealers who have things to give, with asylum seekers who need those things (clothes, kitchen supplies, furniture). Many live in empty apartments with nothing, and they don't know anyone - making friends is hard. So the money you pay for your ticket will also pay for the dinner of an asylum seeker. Chef Kyle Roerick of kvrkitchen will cook a Caribbean feast, and we will gather at the beautiful Maison d'Haïti, which recently welcomed hundreds of Haitians from the U.S. Funds raised will go in part to Maison d'Haïti, and partly to paying for transportation of furniture donations.

Please join us and chef Kyle Roerick for our late-summer farm-to-table dinner series at Salt Spring Island Cheese featuring a delicious 6-course menu created using amazing products from local producers.

An “island child” through and through, Kyle grew up on Toronto Island, Trinidad & Tobago, and partly on Salt Spring Island, where his mother Jana Roerick of Jana's Bake Shop and Marcus Dowrich of Salt Spring Island Cheese and Black Sheep Farm have been living and working for the past 15 years. 

Kyle is excited to bring his island influences to his cuisine for the Salt Spring Cheese Dinner Series, mixing many tropical flavours with beautiful Salt Spring ingredients. 

Our third dinner will feature a Barbadian style "fish-fry", fresh produce from Melanie and Paul at Small Earth Farm, and, of course, delicious cheeses from Salt Spring Island Cheese.
